  • Hi everyone.. we're back already! Got home at 9.15! Here's a brief birth story as I'm exhausted and in need of sleep....

After having contractions all day they were around 3 mins apart when we arrived at the hospital at 4pm just using my tens machine (plus had had a couple paracetamol). Was examined around 5.20 and found to be 7cm dilated so they broke my waters and I started gas and air as it was too late for anything else. Kaitlyn was born at 6.02 after 20 mins of pushing (official labour time was 2 3/4 hours.) weighing 8lb 2 and 52cm long using just gas and air. No stitches and no problems and she had a breastfeed soon after so we were allowed to go home at 8.45. Kaitlyn's beautiful and I think I'm still in shock from the sheer speed of everything and I couldn't have done it without Steve. Feeling exhausted but glad it's over and we've finally got our baby Kaitlyn!

Here's a link to a pic of the 3 of us... should be interesting introducing her to Ashli tomorrow who is currently in bed none the wiser to the new arrival!!!

I KNEW you wouldn't last until Thursday!...didn't get the date or time right though:rolleyes: ...

She's gorgeous btw....although I have to say she looks a few months old....not new born!!...I suppose that's how it is with the bigger babbas....I'm used to seeing them smaller (in the family)...saying that one of the girls in work....her first was I'm pretty sure nearly 12 ib:eek:   and the second was over 10:eek: Enough to put me off....for a very short time admittedly:o

    Enjoy this time...congrats again XX

Edit: and btw you look bloody good considering you've just been in labour!

I smiled at your little ditty about Ashil crying everytime the babby cries - very sweet. Mind you, everytime Jack cries, I cry too....!!
