Boots for slim calves?

Hi, has anyone got any experience of finding boots to fit slim calves? Everywhere I look people seem to be wearing boots and I'd love to, but they all look like wellies on me :o

I've got size 6½ feet and just measured my calves and they are 32/33cms. I've found specialist makers online, eg Duoboots and Thebootmakers, but it looks like I'd have to pay ~£200 and not be able to try them on until they arrived

Has anyone seen anything cheaper? Thanks :D

I feel your pain! For years i tried to find boots for skinny calves, eventually ended up investing in boots from Duo. I've had 4 different pairs, they are excellent quality and i am on my 3rd year of wearing one pair and 4th year wearing the other, so you do get what you pay for. They have also just launched their outlet site, which is definitely worth checking out, there were some very nice mid calf dressy black boots for around £85
    Good luck

I find aldo boots often have very slim calves. Are you wearing them with only tights/leggings? A lot of boots seem to look really big worn like that, I guess they expect people to wear jeans under them.
Is there not a thread already on this? I haven't looked but just imagine it's a common problem so there's probably a thread full of retailers somewhere.

  • Thanks gallery - where is the outlet site? I don't think I've seen that.

Adelight - no, I've really struggled to find any threads or even websites for slim calves - I want to wear them over jeans and all the ones I tried last weekend just look like wellies, even ones marketed as slim fit - I'll have a look for aldo though.

    Thanks for your help

  • Armchair23 thanks, but honestly it does my head in! :rotfl: I am so envious seeing all these people in nice boots and every time I try a pair on I hope like mad that they will fit, but I look sooo ridiculous :-) :o

I've just been on the duo website and am now considering a 6 hour round trip to go and try some on, thats how desperate I am!

  • It's tough isn't it . Whichever side of the 'norm' you exist choice is reduced and price is increased. Hope you find something lovely, I'm sure it's out there somewhere. X

I just had a look too on the outlet site. Brilliant choice and prices great too for quality boots.

Where is the outlet please (just to save me going back to the site and searching)

I am envious that you are looking for boots for slim calves. (jelos really lol)

I have wide calves, it's a family thing arghhh... I can only wear boots from Evans. I have many boots BUT I want a pair of over the knee ones, but sadly the ones from evans are horrible, the feet bit is to wide, I have standard feet, it's just my calves. I did buy pair from peacocks few years ago, but with them being suede I find them sliding down, and I have to pull them up, and I can't wear jeans with any of my boots, not even ones from evans I have.

I begrudge paying DUO prices, but perhaps I might try them next.
  • Duo boots are expensive but I bought 2 pairs three years ago and they are just coming back out for this year. They still look great and I think they are wonderful value if they last so well.

I have very skinny calves and finding these was a joy.

Keep an eye on the prices later in the season. They have really good sales and perhaps you could get yourself some at a good price ready for next Winter.
Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend
