help with JSA

DH has been offered a sales job with a kitchen company but next week is a training course then he starts working evenings the week after.

This is a commission only position with no petrol allowance or any other benefit
Does he sign off JSA or can he do both and advise them when he starts earning or just not take the job

Thanks

I have not a clue about JSA. My point would be that if he is an employee then he is entitled to the national minimum wage regardless of commission (although commission payments can be included to bring a wage up to the NMW). So your post indicates to me that he is not an employee, has not even limited employment rights - and I would wonder if he will ever see a penny. But perhaps I am just a pessimist.

He can't claim JSA as he is not available for work.

How about no longer being masochistic?
    How about remembering your divinity?
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out?
How about not equating death with stopping?
  • that's what I was thinking but if I say anything I am just being negative but if he signs off JSA and realises he isn't earning anything he may not be able to sign on again
