What organic cold pressed oil is best for skin?

I tried coconut oil but it didn't smell good when put on my skin. I have just bought some sweet almond oil and so far, it smells really nice and skin looks great.

  • Jojoba oil is very similar to the skin's natural sebum.
Expensive but little smell though so you could try that.
    Works well for oil cleansing.

I use almond oil and think it is absolutely the best for my skin care.

Have used it for a couple of years now. Very cheap, no real discernable smell and seems to be very easily assimilated by the skin.

No more tightness or dry patches and the pores on my nose that were always a bit clogged are now completely clean and clear.

Use it nightly for cleansing. Because it keeps the skin so moisturised and supple, I only need a tiny amount of day and night cream, which I use mainly for their anti-aging properties, so they last much longer now too.

Why does it need to be the result of marketing hype?

Here we are, cold-pressed organic almond oil £7.50 for 150ml (£50/litre). I use almond oil for general cleansing every night, so that would be too expensive for me, the one I buy is very :money:and fortunately my skin is happy with it.

The boots one is not organic and probably heated/refinded. I went for a sweet almond oil from akoma skincare.

It 100% depends on YOUR skin as to which oil, or more likely oil blend, is best for your skin. Jojoba is excellent for oily skin, but those with dry skin will benefit from a blend using more moisutirisng oils like coconut. http://www.care2.com/greenliving/choose-the-best-cosmetic-ingredient.html is a nice brief list of common oils and their suitability, more detailed ones and ideas for oil blends are all over the internet.
A smellier oil suggests it's less refined which is actually better for your skin, a scent free coconut oil is likely heavily refined and not as nourishing. A few drops of essential oil can change the smell slightly if you really dislike a smell.

Rosehip seed oil is absolutely wonderful for your skin - I'd say it was probably the best out of all of them as it's choc full of anti-oxidants. I've started to make my own beefed up skincare so that I know it's got enough of what I need (without costing the earth, Skinceuticals!) and none of what I don't. Here's a bit of blurb from one of the sites where I get some of my ingredients - http://www.aromantic.co.uk/rosehip-seed-oil.htm
