Argos Store Card Help

Hi,

Not sure if anyone can help on this one but, I have an argos card and have accumulated approx. £2k of debt on it over the past 6 months. I did think I might of been able to balance transfer this to a 0% barclaycard (with a 2.5%) but when the bank tried to process this it failed and when speaking to my advisor at the bank, she told me that argos don't accept credit card payments. She was suprised by this as other store cards allow it

Can anyone help me in trying to clear this debt rather than paying the 29.9% interest each month?

Thanks in advance.
M

Barclaycard allow funds transfer to your bank account. If they refuse i know Virgin do this too for a 4% fee.

I have an argos account, but use it for the 3/6/9 months BNPL deals... why on earth did you rack up 2k on the type of account. I would say that the quicker you settle this account the better you (and your pocket) will be :-)

  • The problem I think is (from memory) that the Argos account number is one digit too short/long to enable you to do a direct balance transfer.
As mentioned you need a mule card that will let you transfer funds to your bank account for you to then settle the Argos card.

argos do, their is a flaw in their online system. when trying to make a payment select visa debit.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

when doing a BT the new donor card sends the money to argos, you dont process it on the argos website as the donor card would bill you at purchase rate not BT rate.
