Bargain batteries in Boots

I was in my local Boots (down South) this morning and they had stacks and stacks of Duracell Ultra Power Batteries, size AA, 20 pack reduced with clearance stickers to £4.99. However, it gets better, the SA was passing by and she saw me picking a pack up and told me that they are also 3 for 2. So 60 really good batteries for £9.98. This makes them £3.33 for 20!

I realise this could be store-specific and wasn't sure whether to post this or not but there is a good chance it is nationwide. The reason I think this, is that the batteries are in date until 2018 but they have a round gold circle on the front advertising a competition to win Olympic tickets, with a closing date of 31st Oct this year. They also had a HUGE number of them - not just a few end of line packs to shift.

Knowing Boots, they are simply marking them down to clear them purely because the comp. on the front is out-dated.

I bought 6 packs because the best before date is so good.

For those of you with kids (and Xmas coming up), it may be worth popping in your local Boots if passing by.

Thought I'd share with all, Boots Cardiff City centre has Galaxy caramel cholcolate bars at clearance price of 35p,I'm not sure of the size,I'l have to check but its NOT the normal snack bar size.
