For the first time I have insufficient funds in my bank. I have money going in at the end of the week but otherwise ...
Basically, I helped my daughter out a few months ago when her relationship broke down. This is ongoing. She's in a similar situation as me atm. Also, I have family staying until they get their house done up. They do a lot food wise etc but my fuel bills have rocketed. I'm of pension age and worried.
I don't smoke, have an occasional drink, use internet services and mobile phone. I do enjoy travelling but see that that will be out of the question soon. I have 3 CCs two of which I use only to switch balances to as they're 0%. My outstanding mortgage is £648 (yes you read that right). I pay 0 council tax and 0 prescription charges.

Hi
What do you need between now and when you have money coming in? do you have other costs going out of your bank that will bounce? Can you ask the family members who are staying with you to loan you some money? or to contribute towards the bills? Can you explain how much your fuel bills have increased since they have been there?
How long are you expect the family members to stay?
Whilst its nice to help your daughter if you can, you need to look after paying your own essentials and own debts first. I think you need to try to draw up a statement of affairs / income & expenditure account to see if you can manage financially and whether you'll be able to offer any ongoing support to your daughter.
Have both you and daughter checked you are getting all / any benefits you are entitled to?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi Tixy, both daughter and I are on max benefits available. As for family, I'm reluctant to ask for anything as they have own house exes. I guess I'm proud. As I say a lot of this is me being soft I know. I don't know when they'll be moving outDebt-Free as of 12th September 2017

If its a couple of weeks they'd be staying, maybe up to a month then I can understand you not asking. But if its longer term than that I really think you need to - and I can't imagine that they'd want you to struggle and miss payments on things because of them.
I do know what you mean about being proud but it sounds like you might need to bite the bullet and find a way to approach them about it. Whilst they may have their own house expenses they won't be paying much for things like gas & elec etc whilst they are not living there. And if they couldn't stay with you it would cost them significantly more if they had to rent a place or stay in B&Bs etc.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Oh dear...I think the time has come for them to pick up atleast ONE of the tabs...remember, they won't be paying much electricity, heating, water etc and if they've notified the council of work being carried out then they're also not paying for all of their council tax!! If they expect to be able to live on the money they're bringing it at the moment when they move back into their home then they will have been saving a fortune while staying with you...if you've gone from a one person household to a 3, 4 or 5 person household then £100 is the minimum they should be giving you!!!!!!!!June 2012 Clydesdale Loan=[STRIKE]£12620[/STRIKE]£1246.47- (only 5 payments left but just received £3955 back from it for PPI!!!)0
