Can anyone recommend a good dressmaker?

I am hoping to have a wedding dress made. I contacted MaryRose McGrath from HOF and she quoted me £2,000 for the design that I want eek! I don't know of any other dressmakers so am hoping that you lovely people can help me. I'm based in Belfast.

My friend had hers made by Katherine Morrison who is based in lovely.
She designs and makes or will customise a pattern for you.
Did a lovely job but dont know what she paid.

I know of a woman in Newcastle, I will see if I can get her details tonight, as I only know her name so far.

She is very reasonable and the dresses are gorgeous.

I can recommend Patricia Eastwood, based on the Lisburn road. She altered my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses.

Hussein Chalayan
Bruce Oldfield
and on and on and on

anyhow if you glance at the pages you will see most of the time people expect the students to do things for free or there are some ridiculous payments.

if you put an add up then anyone interested should show you their online portfolio. a lot of the students are from around the world. the graduates also keep their eyes on this site

its worth a try and it is for free.

remember these people are highly trained and highly skilled. they draft their own patterns and make them themselves to then go onto make a toile which is on cheap fabric to make sure it is perfect before they then go onto make the dress. Sarah Burton went to St Martins and she designed Kates wedding dress.
