Chapped Lips

Hi everyone,
I suffer from chapped lips, always have and am just fed up of looking in the mirror and seeing my lips.
I have tried numerous lip balms to sort the problem out. I have stopped using anything on my lips in case it was the actual products drying my lips out. Again, to no avail. The season doesn't seem to have an affect, they are try and gross in hot and cold weather.
Does anyone have any ideas or magic treatments to help?

Go to your GP, i did and she gave me steriod cream to use (the tiniest amount) for a short period of time and it really helped.0

- Blistex Healing is the best thing I've found to sort dry lips out - bit pricey but I've never found a budget one that works as well. I get this in the winter, and use the Chapstick ones in the summer.
(there's a few kinds of Blistex, make sure you get the HEALING one as I've found the others to be a bit rubbish)
- For sorting out the flecks of dry skin and making the lips look instantly better, apply some vaseline (LOTS - smear it on, don't rub it in), let it stay for a bit, then rub them with a damp old toothbrush or a damp flannel.
Not hard so it hurts or bleeds, but just like "exfoliation" hard. This should leave them smooth by getting rid of all the bits that are ready to come off. I do this once every few days.
- Always carry a lip balm with you and regularly reapply even when they're not feeling that dry. Bit of a PITA but I think with skin preventation is better than cure, and all that. You'll probably need a bit more in the winter.

Also try Vaseline with aloe vera at night - it soothes, moisturises and helps any sore spots to heal.0

Carmex Moisture Plus is my favourite and it works really well. Are you drinking enough water, and using a lip scrub every now and again too?0
