Hi can anyone help with a temporary employment issue? My 16 year old son was taken on in November as a Christmas temp he was told if any perm jobs come up it would be his.He is still working there and a job has come up!BUT they have now said you can apply it for it which he has and it is being advertised this is how we have to do it etc, fair enough, closing date on the website is 22/2/07,(just checked the website the job is no longer there) they said this week he can work 34 hours so picked him up today and he tells me that he is down to 20 hours now this week, a new person started today( he thinks he is friendly with the boss) and it seems he has got the job  .He tells me the boss will speak to him on Wednedsay I am so cross,I feel they have taken the p**s, he has always tried to be flexible and never let them down and this is the thanks,am I just being over protective.I obviously realise I dont know all the facts at this moment, but needed to get it off my chest, does he have any rights?

fair or not im afraid the boss will do what he wants especially with regard to temp work.

YEh I just think because he is young (16) and probably does not speak out he has been used and now because it suits them they will say goodbye. On the plus side hes had some experience and at the very least will have a reference. But I still feel peed of about it.0
