Employer issue

I have a great employer and I have nothing to complain about.
Every now and then my expenses are a little slow in getting to my bank account, but that's about it.
(Posted in response to SarEl's comment that we rarely get people posting about how good their employers are]. So to tip the balance in the other direction - mine are fab.
That is all. They are out there, although sometimes on here it doesn't look like it.

If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Maybe not on the greatest wage but I read a quote somewhere I think is very true.....

Pointless thread or not, it makes a nice change to hear about good stuff and not problems.
I no longer work, as I care for my disabled son, but I had a job with a small, local retailer. I started as a Saturday girl and was taken on full time after my A levels. We had to keep an eye on security cameras whilst we ate lunch, and also answer the phone if the floor staff were busy, but we could do our shopping later in the afternoon when it was quieter. So much better than spending your lunch hour queuing! We were paid for our lunchtimes and didn't have wages docked when we did our own shopping.
We could wear our own clothes, didn't have to pay for tea and coffee, and could have drinks whenever we wanted, as long as customers were served and other tasks completed. So a cuppa whilst unpacking stock or doing paperwork was the norm. Even with customers in the shop, we could have a drink and stand at the office door, as long as we put our drink down to attend to the customers when required.
Stocktaking was on Sunday once a year - paid at double time. No other working on Sundays, even in the run up to Christmas.
Staff were happy and worked well together. We could arrange to swop shifts if we wanted to - no need for permission from anybody other than the shop manager. The MD was happy to let her do her job and manage, but still took a keen interest in his staff. He allowed me to return to work part time after maternity leave, long before flexible working was a phrase.
At Christmas, we always received a present from the MD - Christmas cake, tin of Roses, and something alcoholic. He also paid for our Christmas drinks when we went out for a staff meal - some years, he paid for the meals as well.
The shop still exists, with most of the staff still there, but the MD retired and sold the shop a few years ago. it is part of a small chain now, and some of the above still applies.
Happy staff usually equals willing and loyal staff, prepared to go the extra mile when necessary.0
