    Tesco Today!

I REALLY hope this is wrong......shopped in my usual smaller Tesco store today. When paying they wouldn't accept the Free Veg Pot coupons or the Ocean spray cranberry ones. The assistant did try to scan them (I bought them all) she called supervisor who said it was because since the end of November they now ONLY accept Tesco coupons.

They have always taken them in the past. I'm gonna ring the Customer service tomorrow. I will be SO gutted if its true :-(
I shopped in a Tesco Extra today and used, whitby seafood, unilever, & aunt bessie's coupons all were accepted.

Thats completely wrong they make up the rules as they go along. If you purchase the item its valid. HQ will confirm this. I had the same problem and demanded the manager as the supervisor trout was it the wrong. HTH

    Thanks!

Gonna ring tomorrow and ask for a written version of their current coupon policy so I have some sort of proof to show store. Will report back and let you guys know.

ps. The only thing I don't understand though is why the till didn't scan them? She did try them all some more than once and they had all printed fine clear barcodes etc.

Maybe she was scanning the wrong barcode?

This has happened with me before when using these coupons. It is the short barcode not the long one.

Not sure if already posted but I picked up Sainsbury's "Christmas Made Easy" booklet today and it has a couple of vouchers in there:
30p off Aunt Bessie's 6 Boat Shaped Yorkshires on page 12 & 50p off Cravendale on page 29.

In todays Mirror or Star I also noticed a £2.00 off Co-Op when spending £10.00 - I read both papers and can't remember which one it was and I can't check as I was in a cafe!

As taken from first page of this forum here is Tesco's coupon policy. So obviously what has happened to you is not right. I would email their HO as they may sort out your store's issues with coupons and possibly compensate you with a moneycard.

    Policies

    TESCO

Only accepts coupons when you buy the product.

Official NEW coupon policy communicated to all Tesco staff:

    From Monday, 31 October 2011

Tesco will no longer accept coupons from other retailers (conditional spends etc).

This includes all types of coupons issued by Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons, Waitrose, Marks and Spencer, Co-op , Aldi etc, including their Spend and Save, Brand Match and Price Guarantee vouchers.

The new Tesco coupon policy is simple - Tesco will accept all Tesco and supplier /product coupons (PDFs & Safe coupons) as long as the customer has purchased the product. But that is all.

Tesco will continue to issue, and therefore accept, Tesco Price Check coupons

Do contact Tesco head office about your inconvenience as it seems to have contravened their coupon policy.
