lol, was posting as you posted....lol

amazing how the search function works....lol

yes, we did. Went on tube, did some extreme shopping at Boots :p got my impulses for 50p. amazing how many SA's face's drop when you start handing over coupons and the till total reduces! don't see why! Boots will still get their 50p from Impulse and they will still get their wages and their boots discount. I need every penny I can get at the moment.

and if I run out of hot water, at least I will smell nice.....:rotfl:

then went on some more tubes, DS fell asleep and then told me we were not getting big train home. Then he saw new one and decided it was ok. could tell he still wasn't well. thought he was going to bed at 7.30 with Dad  but alas, still wide awake now, although Dad nearly asleep.

ahh its a bit like terracycle then!
Getting confused as i know of a few schemes to "trade in" older things for newer things which are then recycled

I am not sure extreme couponing sparked it off, I think it was already being discussed anyway, just not as big as a scale as it now, since we went into the recession again, people have been putting up blogs about frugal living, recycling, etc.

so this was just the next step. soon it will all be about upcycling.

You're probably right. Its just weird when its the way you kind of have always been.Dunno how many times we have reused that ikea shelving!
Its funny all of a sudden i feel fashionable:rotfl:(if you know what i mean)

Big hugs to you and DS.Hope he feels better soon poor lamb.Sounds like hes got a right yucky!:(

Aesop, your little lad sounds a real sweetie, give him a hug from me.:):):):)

I got 5 of the Impulse using the .50p coupons this morning. The SA said she hadn;t a clue what to do with them as they never get coupons. She did put them through but only by scanning an impulse spray and then the .50p coupon. Did them one at a time, but we got there in the end.

Forgot to mention then, all my Impulse had the .50p coupon on them.

will do CW. He was still awake when I went up for my bath  asked him why, he said his dad was snoring and keeping him awake! told him next time to come downstairs to me so I could put him to bed.

I got mine from Asda the other day, made sure I purchased all with the coupon on, and then scanned one at a time in single transactions. So I owned each bottle, and then took off the 50p coupon and used it on the next one. I had one spare, so used that today at boots, and took off the coupon off the bottle and went and picked up more with the coupons.

Did the same again with the SA, told her was going to put them through in separate transactions so could use each coupon. In the end she put them through in one transaction, ripping of coupon off each one and scanning for next bottle :) I have one left :)

do you know I think about my parents and they were all into recycling, reducing, reusing, coupons etc, long before it all became fashionable! maybe it was learnt from their parents, or just from a need to survive?

I remember Dad switching off lights all round the house, even if you left the kitchen for a moment to go and use the bathroom, switching off the hall light as you were coming down the stairs! sitting in the dark watching TV.

toys being handed down from cousins and clothes. did us no harm though. I remember my mum cutting out coupons from newspapers, must have rife with them and sending them to my sister in Corby. As at that time that is where all coupons went for redemption. think the asda at that time took all coupons even if you didn't buy the stuff or something like that. But remember my sister saying she made money from them.

So yes FT - you are trendy and fashionable :D you should write a blog!

and yes hope DS gets over whatever is ailing him quickly!

See i never knew about the corby trick.Would have been handy too as my great gran lived there and we lived on a small island with no choice in supermarkets. So could have really used that back then.

We are all trendy now.Maybe we should all start a blog together and talk about how best to use all our coupons etc...Oh wait a min think that exists somewhere :rotfl:

I wonder how many of us have had a frugal upbringing so to speak?
