My credit score has just been changed from Excellent to Fair by Experian for no apparant reason there have been no changes to my circumstnces. I am in the middle of trying to arrange a mortgage, I think this change will ruin my chance of getting a mortgage. Martin, what can I do about it, help!

Your Experian score is pretty much meaningless. Each lender will have its own scoring method0

Don't pay money for a credit rating. How Experian interpret you data will be different to how a potential lender will interpret your data. Experian dont lend you the money.
- save up a big deposit.
- pay all you commitments on time.
- pay more than the minimum payment on all credit cards.
- don't have an excessive number of searches carried out by potential lenders.0 -
Apparently on the 1st of Nov they changed the way they calculate the scores. Stricter, Banks not lending etc. It's a total crock, I've been getting a score every couple of months for the last year, which is totally meaningless... time for an official complaint.0
