Just had a call from a chappie from debts no. 2 and 4, very nice man at the moment, although he has made me cry in years past.
Wanting to talk about settlement, the larger is currently £3995 o/s and is secured, I had forgotten about that. The smaller is £1068. He said that they can automatically accept 80% against the secured loan, and 50% against the unsecured. That will just about clear me out, and I so wanted to clear all 4. He said they are still able to negotiate on those figures. So, if I offer then £3000 to split between the two however they see fit, and that leaves me with £1,400 to offer either 1 and 3. Hopefully no. 1 will accept that which leaves me with no. 3 at £2907 which I am repaying at £30 a month. It also takes me back into my overdraft, which is costing me £65 a month.
In case anyone is reading through my drivel, I'm not expecting a reply to all this LOL, just trying to put it all in one place. I'm really good at making lengthy notes on sheets of paper and then losing them, so having to start again. This keeps it all in one place.Light Bulb Moment: October 2011

I've had a wonderful evening, my first debt rang me this afternoon to see if I had been able to dig up any more cash to add to my full and final offer of £1200 (hang on! I'll just check down the back of the sofa!) I was firm, and told her that was it, she went and had long chat with her manager and came back with an offer of £1600 payable over 2 months, £1260 today and £340 next month, and it's clear!!!!!
I've even managed to do it with my two little savings accounts, so I still haven't gone into my overdraft. I have £3450 left to play with, so I think I'm going to have a go at the two L debts say around 20th December, maybe they will be short on their figures for the end of the year too, and be a little more forthcoming.

My ebay sales have just about finished, so this morning we went to buy my shiny new freezer!!! I sold £122.05 (plus P&P), and had my eye on a £99 one, but looking at it in the shop it was TINY! so we have gone a bit more and spent £169 for one double the size. I have one more thing to sell which is currently £26 with a few hours to go, so the freezer was almost free. DH has also sold around £100 worth of stuff, so he is going to stock it for us.Light Bulb Moment: October 2011

Had 2 calls from Link yesterday, on my mobile. I've no idea how they have got this number, I don't give it out to anyone other than friends or family, really strange. I spoke to them the first time, but I was actually out having lunch with a friend, so couldn't go into details, and asked them to ring back, again, when they did I was with someone, so didn't answer it.
Anyway, crux of the call, re my offer of paying them £3000, had I been able to up that figure at all. Couldn't go into details with them as I was with someone, but I didn't offer them that, I offered them £2,500. It was a different person as well, the chap I speak to is usually quite nice. No doubt they will ring again shortly and we'll see where we go from there. I would be thrilled to see another debt bite the dust before Christmas - and then I'm going to go for the missold PPI on it and it will be all mine mwah ha ha ha!!!!!Light Bulb Moment: October 2011

Back again after Christmas. Dh had a little windfall of around £1000 in the summer and we used that for spends, and we still have £370 left. We also shop at Asda and when they were doing the £5 cashback thingy we were putting that and the 10% cashback onto a giftcard, and that covered all the eats. We are going to carry it on next year as well and put £5 a week on a card.
I did have a bit of an unnecessary spend and bought myself a bb playbook as they suddenly dropped in price. and I have a blackberry phone too. I love it although I shouldnt really have bought it. Im aiming on doing a lot of decluttering and will ebay lots and replace the funds that way.
im quite excited about being more money savvy and starting a new year, I intend to be in a much better position by this time next year.Light Bulb Moment: October 2011

Wowee - it's blowing a gale here in sunny South Wales. It is actually quite sunny now, can't see the computer screen properly for the glare, but I'm a bit concerned about the conservatory roof!
I wrote out a meal planner for the week when I went shopping, and then promptly lost it. So, if I put it on here, it can't get lost.
Thu: Chicken curry and pilau rice (actually may change this to Chinese chicken curry for tonight as I'm busy and don't have time to spend cooking this.
Fri: Chicken mish mash for us, chicken tikka pockets for DH
Sat: Chilli and baked pots
Sun: Roast turkey dinner
I'm also going to keep up a todo list for the day as well, and see how well I can stick to it. So, for today:

[STRIKE]Take tree and trimmings down[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]General tidy[/STRIKE]

Sunny day again here, going to attempt to put some more washing out as I got loads dry yesterday.
Have an extra couple of hours free now as I thought Dad needed me to take him shopping, but he doesn't, so don't have to go out til later. Did well with the to do list yesterday so going to do that again today.

I'm thinking of contacting Lowell to see if they will accept what I have as a full and final, need to put my thinking hat on about that one. I was hoping to do Link 1, as that will save me £55 a month, however if I did Lowell and Link 2 that would be £45 a month saved, although it means going right back into my overdraft again. I'm paying around £65 in charges to the bank for the overdraft, and the loans are 0% so maybe I should leave the overdraft alone, and not pay the F&Fs ...Light Bulb Moment: October 2011

I'm not doing well on those kitchen tops!!!
Executive decision: Monday is to be spent catching up on ebay sales over the weekend, Tuesday will be spent on housework. Computer not to be turned on.
Think I should go to bed now, feel a headache coming on with all this decision making.Light Bulb Moment: October 2011
