My partner and i (unmarried but living together) Live in a rented property - but one partner owns a property which is going to auction.
As we do not own our own home - how can we offset any capital gains tax we may be liable for.
For that matter, are we actually liable because our main residence is rented and has been for the past 8 years?
Is there anything we can do, using the fact that only one of us owns the property we are auctioning.

If the house being auction was lived in by one of you as your PPR then the same calculation will apply.if i had known then what i know now0
