Double Defaults

A number of creditors including Egg and MBNA have now sold their books to other collections companies across the board.
Instead of the original default being updated to show the new company my credit files now show a default entry from the original creditor AND a default entry from the purchaser.
Having twice as many defaults on file as actually happened can surely only have a detrimental effect - yet if I contact the original creditor using the Clean Up Template they simply forward all correspondence to the purchaser.
Is this correct that it should create a second entry on my CRA file and if not is there a simple way to get the original entry removed?

I had this with a couple of mine, but after contacting both the original creditor and the new one, they both updated their records to satisfied. It took a couple of months for it to happen but my files are now all sorted.:pB&SC No. 298

So you also retained two separate entries? Surely there is only one account and as such it should only appear once but with the creditors name change noted?0

Yes, but as they all fall off at the same time then there is no detrimental effect. Whilst my BR is on my file, my credit rating is shot at anyway.:pB&SC No. 298
