Uncertain - do you mean he only has 3 months from the dismissal date and not from the result of the appeal?

And if that is the case, any ideas on how long an appeal is likely to take? (and I expect the answer will be, how long is a piece of string...but just a general idea would be nice!)

Yes, three month from dismissal - this is very important.

If I was cynical (me?) I would say the string is just long enough to take you past the magic three month date if you are not careful! Obviously the union and their lawyers should be well aware of this but keep a very close eye especially with everybody disappearing for a couple of weeks over Christmas.

Three months less a day from the dismissal date, and you do not have to wait for the appeal to be heard. But I have PM'd you in response to your message and you need to take what I have said there into account.
  • SarEl - Thank you very much for your pm. It has really helped to clarify the situation - not necessarily what I wanted to hear BUT I think you[re probably right so fingers crossed for the appeal!

Thank you for taking the time to reply - its much appreciated.
