Paperwork found, The last payment they recived was through CCC JUN 07 so well over 4 years, Does this make much difference??

Should i phone them and tell them to get on with it?

Well it means it's not statute barred.

You could ask them what effect bankruptcy would have on your million pound townhouse and your brand new BMW 7-series.

If they find out you are in rented accommodation with multiple debts and no assets I think they might lose interest.

Ok after a phone call chatt they want me to pay £1 a month on each account (looks like they have got an old T-Mobile bill to for £200)

Should i pay this or let them go down the Bankrupty way?

    Thanks
  • Definately let them follow through with their threat - even though they probably won't !

Strange why they asked for £1 a month when that would take till i die to pay that off lol. Why do they bother?

I can think of a few reasons why it is in their interest. Because (1) it stops the debt from becoming statute barred, (2) it means they keep contact with you and can threaten you again later, (3) it makes the account more valuable if they decide to sell it on.

It does show that they had no intention of following through their threat of a forced bankruptcy. The OFT warned 1st Credit about this a couple of years ago. Press release here. It's hightime Capquest got a similar warning shot. Feel free to let the OFT know about your case.
