I am starting an ironing business in Medway, Kent. I already have one lady that I now iron for on a weekly basis, but I need more! Does anyone have any ideas on where to advertise??

Try any large employer in the area and near you - drop some fliers inDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I'd put cards in local newsagents and also local launderettes if they don't have their own ironing service.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Get a basic website package and a domain name, spend a bit of time making a website up, learn how to get good keywords so it comes up on google. People who want ironing services are often time-poor and they look for services online. I know when I hired a cleaner I went to google to find a local one. Most of my clients find me online too.
Other than that, print some A5 full colour leaflets, single side. Make them smart, and focus on a professional image at all times. You will attract people who want proper services at higher prices this way.
Get to know cleaners in the area, window cleaners, gardeners, painters, valet service, dog walkers. Any time you see one of these people at work, approach them and ask if their clients want ironing to mention you. A lot of work comes from other tradespeople. Have some business cards ready to hand over to these tradesmen/women.
Come up with a business name and stick to it on all contact/marketing material.
good luck!0 -
