Ok i'm addicted to my spreadsheets, this isn't healthy! I just love looking at the impact of overpayments! I brought a pot of coffee and box of teabags which will last me 3 months and cost me £4 all together... 3 months of starbucks equivalent would cost me £268... £1000 a year... love the demotivator!
I'm tempted to buy a 12 month travel card for next year, looks like the fares are going up. Just keep putting the savings i'll be making in to my spreadsheet and watching the impact it will haveCan't wait for August 2013 and I'll be free of my student loan (another £200 a month for the October 2016 massive over payment!)
Right i'm tired and getting annoyed with Question Time.
Sweet dreams!06/06/2023 mortgage mort dateJUST BRING IT0 -
I am the same. Have been playing with the spreadsheet, and it really helps you to see how much of a difference overpaying difference amounts makes over time.0

Made my first overpayment
I am now due to be mortgage free in 24 years and 7 months rather than 24 years and 9 months!
Going to be a tough month with Christmas, decided to give my family Barnardo's real gifts as presents, I have got 2 nephews who are too young (6 months and 2years 6 months) to know what Uncle Inigma has done! Plus I always spoil brother, sister, mother, father and nephews through out the year!
Also have a few office parties coming up (1 down 3 to go)
BUT if you know about it you can budget for it!
Hope you all are well, at least it's still remarkably mild... anyone else still walking round the house in shorts and t-shirt?06/06/2023 mortgage mort dateJUST BRING IT0 -
It is mild, isn't it, but I wouldn't exactly say it was shorts and t-shirt weather, though!Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)
Jan 2012 - £125,620.02 / 2,913.87 / Nov 2032 (58)
Apr 2012 - £122,901.88 / 3,170.91 / Jul 2032 (58)
Jul 2012 - £122, 589.02 / 3,507.99 / Sept 2032 (58)
Oct 2012 - £120,476.31 / 3,889.42 / July 2032 (58)0 -
If you're walking round the house in shorts it means you have your heating on too high, so turn it down a notch and save a few quid, lol!!0

Off topic, out of interest at the end of my mortgage term (2016... some way off) how do they recalculate your LTV is it off the original value OR is it off the current value?06/06/2023 mortgage mort dateJUST BRING IT0

Current value..... Makes it even more important to overpay!0
-
SO if property prices go up then your LTV benefits, whereas if they go down then your LTV decreases... OVERPAY INIGMA LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER OVERPAID BEFORE!06/06/2023 mortgage mort dateJUST BRING IT0
