I like a warm artichoke dip with crackers or tortillas: just put the hearts, some cream cheese, some feta or parmesan (I prefer feta, OH prefers parm) into a blender or processor. Spread in the bottom of a casserole dish and top with breadcrumbs. Bake in the oven 10-15 minutes (til warm) and voila!
You do have to quite like artichoke hearts for this, but I reckon the chili and lemon will be quite nice!0 -

hiya competitions cafe!!! :j
It was in The Granary on the shore in Leith. It used to be the lighthouse but has just had a face lift.
It wasn't the cheapest meal out, but was a very nice treat. Service was excellent and the place has gone from being filled with boozers to having a family feel about it. worth a look certainly
Where is spoon - always looking fro new places to try!:Dr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
hiya !!! :j
Spoon is on Blackfriars Street, just off the Royal Mile - great lunch spot in town with good soups, salads, sandwiches etc; I don't think they are open in the evenings or on Sundays.

I am always looking for new places to try too, so will add The Granary on the shore in Leith to my list.
Here are a few more places I can recommend trying (if you haven't already):
Always Sunday Cafe - on the Royal Mile just up past the Tron

Plasir du Chocolat - on Canongate: for the amazing hot chocolates (not tried the food)

Kitchin (in Leith) - upmarket and ££££££ so one for a (very) special occassion at least for dinner, but their lunch menu is great value for this quality (2 courses for £12.50) so recommended for a special lunch (may need to book well in advance!)
