Furniture in house

Mismanagement
Hi all
OH just been made bankrupt by HMRC and I have been looking at the form sent by the OR. it is much more extensive than the one I had for my BR and it asks to list far more detail of anything we might own or have in our house or business. ( we rent and have no business premises just self employed)
Even Household Furniture
This sent me into a complete panic as the OR never mentioned household furniture in my BR. Is it different if someone else makes you BR and can they come and take our furniture. Also son has muscial instruments. but has had them for years so no receipts or anything like that
. They wouldnt be under threat would they!!!
panicking now:eek:

No they would not take your household furniture as long as it is in the family home and of normal value. The question really applies to other applications such as antique furniture, perhaps you are a horder and have garages full of the stuff, if you run a business you may have office furniture, if you own buy to let's you may have have household furniture which is not. exempt because it is not for your own useHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

Thats a relief thank you, no we have nothing other than normal domestic furniture but am still worrird about sons musical stuff. It is obvious it is his, but if he doesnt have receipts how do we prove that.
They ask if we have anything in the house that doesnt belong to us
do we include his instruments in that?0
