Eat and Drink at work scheme

The company that I work for gives employees discounted meals via canteens.

Where I work we do not have this facility, and ive been told because of this it means that I can claim some money, but I dont know who from?

Could someone point me in the right direction?

A previous employer of mine had subsidised meals in the canteen at the factory from a deal with the unions. As I & my colleagues were field based, we did not have access to this, we had a lunch allowance that we claimed in our wages for each day we were not at the head office/factory. From memory the rules were up to £2.40 per day to avoid tax implications. It was automatically paid ny the company though rather than through HMRC etc.

This is a matter which is entirely to do with the employer. Just because they have a dicounted canteen in some places doesn't mean that you are entitled to an allowance for not getting it. You will have to ask the employer.
