Just ripped my bloody trousers!

Hello all - not really a matter of life or death but I only own two pairs of trousers and I just ripped my fave pair playing 'row row row your boat' with my toddler (don't ask). I've had them ages and the seams were wearing rather thin .

Anyway, I'm on a very tight budget and wondered if anyone has some inside info and knows of any sales that are due to start soon? I like Sainsburys clothes but would feel annoyed if I were to buy some new trousers only for them to be 20% off next week or something. Primark is no good for me because they are too big on my waist and fit my bum (small waist, full bottom) :D

Why not try your local charity shop? If its near to Sainsburys then they may get end of line items. I know my Tesco does this with our local charity shop but the labels are cut out.

god you've just reminded me, me ripping a pair of my trousers (when as !!!!ed as a fart one night :o) was part of the lightbulb triggering moment I had, there was just no way I could buy more, my credit cards maxed out, struggling to pay off a loan - urgh

my current bf sat me down when I'd sobered up and promised that I would get it sorted cos he had faith in me :)

    and i have too!

in answer to the OP, look at the online stores too, Dorothy Perkins have free delivery on at the moment :) stops you spending whilst out shopping and you get to try stuff on in your own home :)

Don't go to matalan i just bought myself a coat from there and every button bar one fell of in two days, luckily enough i managed not to lose them but i have had to spend all night sewing them back on. Are they beyond repair??
Everything get's repaired until it can be saved no longer in this house ot they grow out of it.

I second the charity shops and try TK Max it aslways a bit hit and miss but you can get good quailty at a reduced price.

Asda and Tescos do cheap clothes too. I think I've bought jeans for £4 from Asda... Not always great quality or cut, but for only £4 who's complaining?

do you have an x-catalogue store near you. It's a bit like a giant jumble sale but you can get some pretty good bargains in there if have the time to wade through the rails. My friend got 3 pairs of smart trousers for work in there last week for £1.50 EACH!!! one black, one dark chocolate brown and one navy. They are very similar to the ones she has now from next which cost her £25 a pair.

Just wish they had them in my size :(

Tesco do plain black trousers in their "value" range for £5, I wear them for work and they're great, wash & wear brilliantly.

I'd recommend TK Maxx too - it's hit and miss but I've had some fabulous bargains there recently, including a £50 pair of Calvin Klein pyjamas for £6.99 :D

I was in the Dorothy Perkins sale last week (looking for stuff for my boyfriend in Burtons for him) and I saw that the woman's sale was very good. Some items had been reduced a couple of times so that might be an option.
