They won't let you pay off a debt with a debt
I found this cos I upped my limit with MBNA to £12000 to buy a caravan. I would have been OK if I had bought it from a shop but I was buying from a couple who owed all the money to a credit company.
So I tried to pay off their debt with my credit card and MBNA wouldn't let the transaction go through. I had a big row with them cos I thought they had approved the money so what does it matter where I spend it?
The only thing they would do is transfer the £12,000 to my current account and then I could pay off the loan that way. But they would charge 2% for the cash advance.0
