New book new attempt at weightloss

I have been trying this Pig to Twig diet for the last 2 weeks and have lost a worrying 12lbs. I lost 10lbs in the first week!! I need to lose another stone so want to try and stick with it. I want to put it on here so that I have some outlet for my joy and also for the heartache if it all goes t++ts up, as it usually does. I feel quite hopefull that I can do it as the first week was the worst so should be quite easy (yeah right) I am not missing the carbs too much and protein fills me up so quickly.
I am gonna try and update when I have lost a couple of pounds so maybe more than once a week maybe not even once a week. I have a lovely dress I want to fit in to so wish me luck!

Starting weight 13.12

Never heard of it before? It's it another type of low carb?

First week's loss will be water weight, then it will slow down as your losing fat/muscle .
  • Well done on your weightloss! Please do update us with your losses, I have the Idiot proof (Pig2twig)diet book amongst many others. I really do believe that low carb is the way to go, but find it really hard to stick to. Plus I am very lazy and keep making excuses not to exercise

Being a nosy bint, I would love to hear what you are eating every day :o
  • Yea I know its water to start with but as long as its leaving lol.

What I'm eating is no breakfast (I know I know but I can't face it) but have a proper cuppa

Lunch yesterday Chicken salad and some salami and cheese

    Dinner cream cheese spanish omlette

    lots of Twinings mint tea

I too am lazy so dont cook massive recipes with lots of ingredients although I have bought some cauliflower to try the faux mash, not made it yet tho!

After a couple of days the over powering urge to eat carbs passed and I feel ok without them. I agree that it could be the way forward for me.

Well done on your weight loss:beer: it seems like a low carb diet, the low carb support thread on here has excellent recipies and lovely helpful people, be careful when you reach you goal weight, its a way of eating not just a diet, the weight can pile on really quickly if you slip back to old ways, again well done:T
Thank you for this site Martin

Yes, I have been a yoyo diter for years, I'm an all or nothing kinda girl. Hopefully I can change my habits. Thanks for the tip about the recipes
  • Minor hiccup this week as I fell off the wagon on a weekend away with the girls a bit. To date I have lost 1 stone and am back on the wagon.......
  • There is a "I wanna lose weight 34" support thread under "I Wanna" and we are all very supportive and friendly! Do come and join us! I have lost over 2 stone, low carbing. I have the Pig2Twig book and find it very good.
Well done on your weight loss so far!
  • With a name like that, I don't think I would want to have anything to do with it. It must be the nastiest, most spiteful catchphrase I have ever heard and I put it on a par with the Monica woman who used to insult people in the News of the World health section and compile diet plans of five chips and three alcoholic drinks to provide the emotional crutch.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
