you may find some oldfashioned grocers sell kilner-type jars around now. Personally, I save any pickle or sauce jars I use during the year. I have now run out of these jars and still have pickled eggs planned for xmas - so will be on the hunt for decent sized jars! will let you know if I find some, if you let me know if YOU find any! I wont pay more than 50p a jar tho! lol0

I'm sure I saw some in Wilkinsons today, I only noticed in passing, so apologies if I've imagined it!0

I had some reasonable ones from Tesco a couple of years back - definitely cheaper than Lakeland.
Or if you're near an ikea, they do them as well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Wilkinsons do have them but I cant remember the price. Home Bargains sounds like a bargain though.. may have to have a ride over there today :-)Women who suffer from Domestic Violence are not victims.... They are survivors....

I know that in B&M they have cheap swing-top bottles (with naff patterns) for £1.99 which came in useful as I make HM soya milk. They do proper Kilner ones but they were just as dear as Lakeland tho'.0

My local TK Maxx has loads of Kilners at the moment. I was looking for large ones to store flour so didn't look at the price of the small but the ones I got were about half the price of other retailers. They had both the screw and clip top jars.
If you'd be happy with any old jars, I believe the cheapest is to buy value/basics something and toss the contents. A bit wasteful, but actually cheaper than buying empty ones! Although you could decant the contents into bags and freeze if you got something suitable, e.g. curry or pasta sauce. Both are under 20p each for 1lb jars last time I checked.
I usually stock up on Kilners after holidays (Christmas and Easter being best) from all the unsold sweets/preserves in jars.0
