Snoring and ear plugs

Not sure if this is the best place to post this but I'm not quite sure where to put it.

I'm going on holiday with my mother in a few weeks and to keep costs down we're going to be sharing a room. Although this isn't a big problem she does snore (sometimes loud enough to wake herself up). I was wondering if anyone knew of any decent earplugs that might block out most (if not all) of the noise. Ideally I'd also like them to block out the noise from the bathroom at home as my bedroom is next door and since it was tiled I can hear everything and with three people in the house who each go to the loo at least once a night I'm getting pretty fed up of not getting a decent nights sleep.

Can anyone help. I'm getting desperate to sleep through a full night.

    Hello Kido

Something like these earplugs would be useful. I have used them to block out noise when I'm on holiday etc. They're just the job.;)

The supplier is Arco. If you look at the bottom of the page I've linked to, it has a find your local branch link.

If you don't have an Arco branch nearby, either ring them to place an order or try another store locally who supply Personal Protective Equipment and Workwear.

  • Boots sell foam ear plugs too (I got mine when my Father came to stay  ).

I think there were either two or thee pairs in a little plastic storage pot. They cost a couple of pounds. They're not nearly as swish as the Arco ones - they're just foam tubes that you roll between your fingers to squash them and then pop it into your ear. As they expand they fit to the shape of your ear.

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

Thanks for these suggestions. I've found a site on e-bay which does 30 pairs of 6 different types for £5.98 including P&P and includes the Laserlite earplugs Nile suggested.

Poundland sell a nose clip which is meant to cut down snoring. The problem is getting your mother to use it without offending her. Make sure you get loads of sleep before you go and catch up when you come back. If it's that loud earplugs won't work.

I couldn't live without my earplugs! OH doesn't snore that much but I'm such a light sleeper and whenever I stay away somewhere else, they come with me as you never know how noisy it is going to be. I just get the ones from Boots, they're great and cheap.
