It's`s my mums 60th birthday in june and i want to get her something really special, she does so much for us and the kids and want somehing she can keep. I want to get something nice but haven't got a fortune to spend.
She has loads of jewellery so don't want to head down that route, she loves anything todo with the grand kids, They are going away quite a bit this year to Hong Kong and South America so may be something linked to this.
Any Ideas would be great, I'm quite good at handmade gifts but lacking the insperation! Ta in advance, you're all stars:A
Ps Love this site so glad it kept going after christmas!!

A family portrait (a studio one) of her and her kids and all the grandkids?0

Is she going to have a birthday party? If not, why don't you throw a surprise party for her inviting all her children and grand children. You make sure you video the party and capture the events on camera for your mum to keep.0

My mum works ata school and last year got a present made by one of the mums. Every child in the class did a thumb print which was put round the edge of a plate with their name written by it. The plate was then glazed and made into a clock by a local pottery cafe type place. Is there a similar thing you could do with all the kids?
Or something you could do totally yourself if you like doing handmade stuff is to put together a scrapbook. There is a thread floating round here for memory books too. Write loads of questions in a book for your mum to fill out to be kept in the future for children and grandchildren 'Your life in your words' was the title we found.
Any more inspiration needed just shout with a general theme and I'll get onto it. I'm a crafty lady with too little time to be crafty so ideas just fall out my head! lol
hope this helps

Thanks guys, Love the idea of the photo album, I'm doing a wedding one for my brother and lovely sil as they got married this summer, my mum re married 8 years ago, i don't know how old old photo's would be taken (i know it's still part of her life!) but defenitly pics of us when we were young, our weddings and grand children would be great, I've also found some war pics of my grandparents so i could include those.
