Debt Girl needs to grow up!!! Here's to a debt free, healthy and happy 2012!!

Options
After a year of lurking and being inspired by other people's diaries I thought I'd bite the bullet and start my own to get myself motivated.

About me, I am just about to turn 29 and have been with my OH for 11 years, and we brought our beautiful house 4.5 years ago. As my username suggests this a secret diary and my OH doesn't know about my current debt situation (apart from my Santander Loan) :o. That's why I'm here to bore all you peeps in diaryland.

The main reasons for starting this diary is that OH and I are planning to start trying for a baby in Jan 2012 and I would like to clear my overdrafts and credit card sharpish and build up my savings!! Hence the need to grow up!! This is all 'do-able' as I earn a decent enough wage and up until a couple of months ago I was on track keeping a spending diary, changing suppliers etc. However, I seem to have lost my way so I am going to use this diary to keep motivated, organised and to ramble away until my hearts content.

December is going to be tough month, what with Christmas (I LOVE Christmas I'm such a child!!), my sister's birthday, my birthday, my mom's 50th birthday and a family holiday to Prague, not to mention the usual social gatherings and parties .

Right I think a plan is needed!! I might be gone sometime!! :D

Ebaying does take FOREVER - only to sell it for next to nothing, but be happy only till you have to go out of your way to post it and then realise that ebay and paypal have taken most of your profit... can you tell Im bitter about recent sales-lol!! Im subscribing to your diary, its alot like mine-ish - will be nice to see your progress.
I'm living so far beyond my income that we may almost be said to be living apart.

  • Grrrrrrr!!! Why do I let it happen????

Just looked over my online banking, and up until Dec 25th (payday) things are going to be tighter than tight. I had slowly been getting myself sorted, but it feels like now all my hard work has gone to waste I feel so annoyed with myself!!! I will sit down and do a proper budget on Friday 25th once I've been paid, plus it makes it harder as December is not your average month!! We'll here goes nothing, my listy for today!!

    # Sainsboo's shop £36.09 - (£10.53 on fruit & veg alone)!!!! Have meal planned for the rest of the week!!!
    # Make soup for work lunches x6 portions
    # Cancel gym membership
    # Flylady
    # Declutter and find stuff to flog on ebay!!

Talking of ebay no bids yet but I've got watchers on all of my items which is something at least!!

Anyways, I'm off to trawl MSE for ideas!!
