It's time for a small petrol

Mazda 2 is a good little car but has a horrendously unforgiving ride. Apparently better on the newer ones, but you'd need to check that you can live with that if it's on your short list.
I'd suggest a Clio were it not for your Gallic aversions. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Perhaps, however having just looked at and/or driven many small cars over the last couple of weeks in a search for a new car for a friend. I was surprised at how good the Jazz was inside and out compared to the competition. It may be out of the OP's price range though
I would be quite happy to buy one and I am way under 65 (and not old before my time
) and more importantly my friend, who is buying, preferred it to 1,2,3,5 & 6 on the OP's list (We didn't look at 4) and the Fiesta. 0 -
Well done, OP. 200K from a Rover 216 is excellent.

I don't think that the Indian built Nissan Pixo will last as long as the bigger Micra, which would be a good bet. The Mazda2 and the Colt I believe are built in Japan so they might be the ones that are built extremely well.Generation Rent0 -
1. 2006-2007 VW Polo or Fox 1.2
2. 2006 Nissan Micra 1.2 and 1.4
3. 2005 Toyota Yarris 1.0
4. 2006 Mitsubishi Colt 1.1
5. 2009 Nissan Pixo Tecna 1.0
6. 2006 Mazda 2 1.4 (old model)
Which one do you see us still driving in say 2020?
Seeing as they're now owned by Renault and since then their car quality has bombed, certainly not Nissan.0 -
Ok an update, found what we need and it's none of the one I had in my list (typical me).
One thing that had to be fulfill was the Labrador accomodation at the back, and all of the above apart from the Mazda2 needed the back seats folded for his highness to fit comfortably.
Took another drive in the Mazda and yes it is way to harsh on the old bones.
And there she was in the yard a 2007 Ford fusion 1.4, ugly thing but thought i will give it a try and presto it ticked all the boxes and the hound can fit with the back seats up.
Shame the only cars this size/length/small petrol are.. French.:rotfl:
So Ford is the winner.:TFive exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!
