Anyone help? Capquest

On Friday out of the blue my partner had a letter sent to his parents house from what looked to be T-Mobile (not a very professional letter...) saying that he owes them £414.66!

My partner then received a letter from CapQuest Debt Recovery saying they had bought his alleged debt from T-Mobile and he must reply to them by 28th November and a default has been registered on his credit file (it hasn't to our knowledge, we've checked)

Point 1. My partner did have a T-Mobile account a few years ago that was cancelled after his bank cancelled the direct debit and the account was seemingly closed (last payment T-Mobile received from him was late 2008 or early 2009, he can't be absolutely sure)

Point 2. If he owed this amount why have they not made every effort to recover it in the past 3 years, he swears he owes them nothing.

I've done my research and found all these threads on CapQuest. They are exactly as I thought, complete scammers!

We've just bought a house, I'm worried they will turn up on the doorstep, although they only have his parents address and his parents are fine with telling them to bog off!

What can I do, are we better ignoring these letters or writing to ask for a copy of the original CCA and statement of account?

I'm just worried as we don't have the money to pay and he insists they are not his debts.
