Last time I applied for a job was over 5 years ago. I've been in steady employment for that amount of time. In that time I've had to battle an extremely debilitating chronic health issue, which lead to unacceptable levels of sickness, I am on sick from work now, it's looking very bleak that my employers would like me to return back to work for them, thier occupational doctors have deemed me unfit for work, but I simply do not have a choice except to work.

How long did it take you after searching to land a job? it seems tough in this climate, I'm quite withdrawn, don't really have any references I can think of, but should be able to conjure something up, I suppose I'll need some luck on my side

Your 'still unemployed' doesn't actually tell you how long the person has been looking
  • No offence, but what is a poll going to do to land you a job? Perhaps spend your time applying for jobs, than posting polls about other people's experiences as it is all completely irrelevant.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

It's to get an rough idea how things are 'really' out there, obviously it depends where you are geographically, but I am a little skeptical of the scaremongering in the media.

Or you are procrastinating. Just apply for jobs and forget the market research. It's really not worth it.

Set yourself a target to apply for a number of jobs each day and see if you can reach that target.
