New Job Pay Query!

Hi,
I started a new job on 16th October.
I get paid Bi-weekly.
I got told that i would get paid 2 weeks pay on 7th November, but i didn't get anything, got told that the accounts department is having some staffing problems.
Then got told that i would get 4 weeks pay on 21st November, just been given my pay slip which is only for 2 weeks pay, my manager then told me that their has been a recent change in the amount of time that new members of staff have to work in hand.
I would like to know if there is a set amount of time by law that they are allowed to make you work in hand?
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Cheers
Craig.

does the pay slip you have there match with the two weeks you worked first?Hi,

So the recent change was given to you in writing? How much time do you have to work in hand?
Is it a franchise?0 -
My pay slip doesn't say the dates it is for, it just says the pay date.
And no he just told me as i finished my shift and gave me my pay slip. I was told it was a week in hand when i was starting, so i have arrange payments for stuff to match but now i have to try and rearrange.
Yeah it is a franchase but quite a big one!!0 -

ok so only a pay date but are you hourly paid? If so you know if it's correct?
And you never asked how many weeks in arrears you have to work?0 -
If you have to work a week in hand for a bi weekly wage you either then have to work 2 week or 3 weeks till you get paid as a bi weekly payroll is obviously only run once every two weeks so on pay day either the 28th or the 4th Nov I would expect to be paid - you said above the pay date was the 7th.
If you have been paid now or rather on Monday (two weeks later) I guess they are saying you have to work a mth before you get paid but are only going to pay you for two weeks?
You need to find out what they have actually paid you for and why0
