I agree, a lot of it is OTT. When I went to work on the pipeline I had to do a short H&S course. If I didn't pass I wouldn't got on in the yard/on to the line. I remember thinking "!!!!!!" and "what a palava!". Something as simple as unhitching or hitching a trailer on what would have been a 30 sec job on the farm was a 5 min faff about on the pipeline. Do this, do that, make sure all the wheels are chocked back and front (and there's quite a few of them on a 40' trailer, make sure theres a spill kit under the back end of the tractor so if it oil leaked from the unplugging the pipes it was caught. And I didn't dare not do it because it would have been my luck that the one time I took a short cut would have been the one time the H&S man would have been lurking and he took no prisoners.

Best thing if you've got the garrys. Someone once told me to swallow gravy granules to "thicken it up". I think he swallowed to many myself as he was certainly thick.:rotfl::rotfl:

It's the same on every site know i used to hate telling guys it's got to be done this way ( am sticking to ma forklift ):)

My job was moving two 40' long, 8 ton pipes from the pile to the bending machine and even though they had a special cradle on the trailer to sit in I still had to strap the things down, even if I was only going 10yds. I spent more time faffing about that I did driving, which was supposed to be my job. I was glad when I got laid off and got back to the farm.
