I agree with some of your comments , it was actually nice of her to do the charity event BUT something didn't sit right when she took back the whole 15 quid and didn't pay a penny for her lunch , even if she popped a fiver in the basket it would have been something and if I'm gonna do something like that for charity its only money and I would have let it go for a good cause for sure!

I do non charity events , just get groups out socialising etc and we have a Christmas party coming up which I've organised and see no problem with buying some table decorations & crackers ( non expensive ones ) etc out of my own pocket as it adds to the ''feel good factor'' of the night which is PRICELESS

The fact that you look around and see everyone having a good time , chatting away together and having fun when they prob would have been stuck at home , often on their own , gives me a good feeling inside but I didn't sense any compassion or goodwill from that lady at all

Plus the reason I said she hadn't thanked anyone is VERY OFTEN on here we actually POST A COMMENT under a deal thanking the OP which she has NEVER done , she just takes the coupons and runs! lol

I do agree with the double standards though as in boasting about getting more stuff than she did but then saying you don't like her?????????

( But I know on here coupon abuse etc is seen as FINE but as long as your kids have a shower and better food than she feeds her kids then everythings okay with the world! LOL )

sorry i see what you mean about the comments bit. but the 15 may be taken rightly if shes doing it on a regular basis, i wouldn't be able to afford that. she may as she agreed she saves for holidays but again point taken.

but she may have still pressed thanks button.

we all have been through periods where we thank someone but don;t comment. i love the thread as i cant get out myself easily due to health so its a lifeline for me.

and it is good to see the community spirit on here with everyone, there was just a few comments made a was a bit surprised at.

its just every so often someone seems to get jumped on, on here then next time its someone else and everyone chips in - like when i mentioned the gambling and it has been resolved on a personal level with the guys involved who have been very understanding.

i went about it the wrong way mentioning it on here, but then there suddenly becomes a free for all where everyone chips in and you become the next victim.

before that there was whatss their name on facebook getting mobbed.

its a bit like schoolday bullying when that happens.

then there is always the popular ones who everyone seems to follow.

i like the happy, supportive, sharing banter, just saying that sometimes there seems a bit of gang warfare/bullying.

then its whos the next victim.

lets be nice to each other guys and play nicely.:j:j
  • So much for an early night. I've just noticed that there is an episode of 'Living with the Amish' to watch too.

  • Ok, the Indian couple annoy me!

why isnt that how we were when we first started then it becomes obsessive as we rush out in the middle of the night (not me too scaredly cat) if someone mentions a bargain and grabs their coat waiting for the heads up.:j:j

sorry you lurke for a bit (me) then once you start you cant shut up.

    sorry.
  • I must have missed that bit....

I'm watching 'Living With The Amish' now about barn raisings. I always thought that the Amish shunned modern days things but this lot have cordless drills and chainsaws. :s

i they the ones that break off and leave the compound or whatever.

i saw the one where when they go on a humdig0-afdjadlfj whatever when they are about 17 to decide if they want to continue amish or bugd;ajfdljf off.

    Another glitch or CS mistake?

Yesterday I returned some goods that I'd bought on my credit card (0% on purchases made b4 end of Nov) but I didn't have my card on me (taken out of purse to make sure I don't use it by mistake) and CS refunded the value of my returned goods to my debit card. Technically this is a free cash withdrawal from my credit card :o

A true glitch that doesn't involve going to the CS desk? I think I'll try this ... want to lie under the CS radar for a while. Gonna get some on the 3 for £12 offer and try to use a JTD voucher

    Kerching!! What a result! 12 bottles of wine @ £6.99 each (£83.88) on a 3 for £12 ... minus £18.96 worth of JTD vouchers ... equals £8.07.

In the words of Noddy Holder ... Merry Christmas:beer:
