Glasses for driving, will they worsen my unaided eyesight

Hi all
I have a prescription of -0.50 in my left eye and -1.00 in my right. I dont wear glasses but i may start to when driving at night. I dont want my eysight to worsen by wearing them for driving meanin i need to wear them more often for activities that i dont need any for at the moment.
I had laser eye surgey in 04 and i have the option in having my right eye done again but wary of this due to risks and side effects.
So.... If i do have glasses for night driving and night driving only will i start relying on them or needing them for other things like tv which i dont at the moment?
Thanks.

Wearing glasses for driving won't make you need them for anything else...Although its likely that if your eyes are deteriorating, you will either need surgery again or need glasses in the future anyway.
I'd look at whether you need the glasses to drive at night. If you do, then start wearing them immediately. You are more likely to damage and worsen your eyes by straining to see, according to my optician, and you'd get into a lot of trouble if you caused an accident due to poor vision.
You might find that with glasses on your vision is a lot better, meaning you either want to wear them for more things to have better vision or you want to repeat surgery, but that is purely due to how much they will improve your vision. The decision will still be yours until your eyes deteriorate to a point that you have to wear glasses.0 -
I dont need to wear them at all but may do just at night. Dont need them at all for anything but dong want to end up needing too due to wearing them for driving. Quite unsure about retreatment laser due to risks and side effects.0

My rule of thumb for driving is the sharper the better. You can't make your eyes any worse by wearing or not wearing thm so give them a try and wear them for tasks that you find it beneficial.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

If you wear your glasses and you can see better through them! then wear them.
People often think that by wearing glasses you make your eyes worse. That's not the case. Infact by not wearing your glasses you strain your eyes and makes things worse. You end up having headaches and all sorts of other problems.
The reason people avoid glasses is because of their appearance in them or the price these high street charge. I don't blame them as they have high over heads but some are just greedy. That's why people shy from wearing glasses and make excuses.0
