Advice on getting a loan for work retraining.
Hi
I am currently self-employed but have been struggling with my business over the past 6 months or so. Due to the lack of work my money issues have started to get a bit messy and so I feel that my credit score is probably down the tubes
I recently put my business on hiatus and I'm now working full-time on a self-employed basis. However, this is only a temporary arrangement and I would like to re-train in a diffrent profession in order to get a definite and more regular income. In order to do this I need to get a reasonable (?!) loan of about 4-5k.
Does anyone have any advice on what my best course would be to get the money?
Cheers Russ

Russ,
Unless you can find a government scheme or mature student scheme I think the only way you are going to be able to retrain is to save up to do it by working.
Are you sure that by borrowing more is going to improve you income sufficiently fast.
Could you not train in the evenings or through your local adult education college?
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

Thanks Rafter for your advice. I think I may just have to go for the more sensible idea and work till I can afford things.
In answer to question of will my income improve sufficiently to warrant borrowing, well it may do as I'm looking to train to be an electrician. Going by my current job as a male massage therapist a lot of people seem to think you are either a pervert (women) or that you are offering male personal services (men)!!
Anyway, thanks again for your advice and point of view. Another persons look on things is always a good idea before making any big changes I feel.
Cheers
