tesco vouchers in adsa

Hi,
Driving past an adsa the other day they had a banner saying they take tesco vouchers. Are these the clubcard deals ones ?

Our local asda is tiny and I was told they do not take them so I am unsure of the ins and outs of this deal. They do take other coupons but not these.

Can anyone help shed some light on this???

Would be fantastic if they did take Tesco Clubcard vouchers!

I think it might be the money off spend ones that they send out ... £5 off £50 ... No idea how you get these but I have seen people using them ...

If anyone did know how you get these vouchers it would be interesting ... they are the weekly dated kind similar to Sainsbugs ones ... I have only ever had the Till Spit versions ....

This subject was raised back in December on the Paid to Shop website. Someone on there said that Asda in Hereford were accepting Tesco Clubcard vouchers (actual Clubcard vouchers, not just Tesco money off vouchers). A few people tested it at the store and it worked. Apparently it's a marketing gimmick to increase Asda's market share in particular areas where there is a Tesco nearby.

Obviously it's a sensational freebie as you're able to convert your CC vouchers into Deals online by using the codes, then go and spend the dud paper vouchers in Asda (effectively getting 4 times their value in Tesco Deals and then their whole value all over again in Asda!). Asda are absorbing the cost of the vouchers as they can't claim it back off Tesco anyway, so Asda won't know or care if the CC vouchers have already been converted to Deals.

It's a bit like that "amnesty" gimmick about 10 years ago where Tesco gave you 250 Clubcard points in exchange for your Safeway ABC loyalty card.

The general consensus on Paid to Shop was that only a limited number of Asda stores were participating in this, but the thread fizzled out before anyone found out which other Asda stores were involved.

Pingua, could you possibly let us know which Asda store you saw the banner at? If it's near me I'll happily do a test run.

Just been and checked this out with my local Asda and its NOT CLUBCARD vouchers, only till spits, vouchers through the post i.3 £3off £30 etc..

i got excited there for a moment or two at the thought of all the shopping i could of been doing with my (spent) clubcard vouchers! lol :rolleyes:
