Boots Christmas jobs ???

really fuming here, the d/w has applied for 6 or 7 (lost count now) separate Christmas in Boots (various stores in Liverpool/Southport)

most if not all have been applied for almost straight away when the jobs appeared, after following the application process, basically entered personal details and start & finish hours

every application has been knocked back due to a "high volume" of applications

so why the hell is the last job still advertised on the directgov job site ???????

surely the likes of a major high street name can do the same as the NHS and put a cap/limit of the first 50 to apply then the job is removed/closed

so bl@@dy frustrating :mad::mad::mad::mad:

    jobs are advertised for ever and a day on directgov as they never update them in time.

    yes I agree, but as you get redirected to Boots own web site to apply, surely Boots can take this (and all the previous ones) down

    not only to waste our time, but there's as well, its not rocket science

    I hate to say it but its quite possible that if its showing on the Boots website there are still positions available, but your d/w doesn't have the experience or traits Boots are looking for.

    Is it right at the beginning she is getting knocked back, or after doing the competency questions?

    Our Boots told me they were not taking anyone on this year.As did our Superdrug and waterstones told me they "may" take one person on in December.

    TBH we are a week into Dec,. I'm willing to bet this is far too late for them to be likely to be still taking ppl on for Xmas..

    My daughter has found exactly the same thing round here (Durham) there are 3 big boots stores in the immediate area and she has applied, through the boots website, for jobs at all of them. They never reply to her applications other than to acknowledge they got it, yet the job are still being advertised.

    I asked someone I know who is a supervisor in one of the stores if there was any other way to apply and she told me that her branch isn't even taking on Christmas staff this year so she has no idea why the jobs are being advertised on the boots website :mad:

    Tell me about it. I have applied to Boots many times in the past, and always get knocked back after completing one of those accursed lengthy online tests (too many retail employers are using them now, for my liking). Things are really bad now when a person can't even get a temp Xmas job!

    Doesn't it make you feel emigrating?
