I need help with 1st credit!!!

Sorry if i have hijacked a thread but had no idea where to write this.......I received a letter from 1st credit saying i owed £990 to a debt. After a very rude phone call in which i did not admit the debt but i was spoken to like i was the scum of the earth, i wrote asking for a cca. I have received a photocopy of an agreement that has my old married name and address, saying that i took out £2000 loan with capital one in sept 1999. There is nearly 1000 added on for creditcare and another 2000 for arranging the loan. I remember taking out a loan but thought this was finished. I have heard nothing from this debt in years and they have tracked me to my new home i a completely different part of country. It says on the photocopy that my bank details are with barclays, i have never had a barclays account! But my name and address are correct and it looks like my old signature. Do i own up to this debt and get them off my back? Or is this debt no longer enforcable after 11 years? What about the £1000 creditcare, is this equivalent to ppi? I need help cos im at my wits end and have no idea where to turn to :(
