Money Making Ideas - PLEASE HELP!!!

Right, i'm getting myself on track! trying too! I have my debts set in my head, i know that i need to clear my credit cards asap!!

So far i have:

requested a refund from a pension scheme (left the job so had a refund coming to me anyway) - approx £450
Put a evening gown up on ebay - £80 (fingers crossed it sells)
Sent phones for recycling - £200

So if the above comes in i can clear one credit card completley and a chunk from the other one!

I have 44 DVD's that i want to get rid of, barely watched them so tried Music Magpie and got offered a lousy £20ish for them all!! i know im trying desperatly to make money but seriously! i probably spent £20 on just two of them! Any one know any other sites or ways to get rid of DVD's??

I have a pair of designer shoes, worn once - too big! so im going to put them on ebay too instead of them sitting in my wardrobe - should be another £50.

Any suggestions welcome, im just trying to get myself on track asap, looking to move out soon so want my credit cards gone before then!!

HELP!!!!!!

Ebay is the best bet for the DVD's, even if you stick them on at £2 each. Or even Gumtree, sell as a job lot

    good luck!

The case is hard so the DVD itself is already protected. Just buy a roll of brown paper in the 99p shop and wrap it. Post it 2nd class and it should be really cheap to UK destinations. If you go to the Post Office website it has an estimated postage calculator if you put in dimensions and weight of your parcel. Just use your food scales to weigh it.

I sell small or lightweight items on ebay and large/heavy items on Gumtree.

On the email this week another place was mentioned in addition to musicmagpie - turnintocash - have you looked to see what they would give for your DVDs and if its any more that MM?

Also have a look at the 'Up Your Income' board and the stickies at the top of that board for some ideas on money making.

It depends on whether you think it's more of a hassle than being debt free....

On a more serious note, ebay has capped postage fees for things like CDs, DVDs etc, so the brown wrapping paper and a 2nd class stamp idea is probably the best...

  • Hi all, thanks for these suggestions :) have done an SoA on another post and have already cut down my phone bill tariff and cut down on a few other areas :).

think next weekend i am going to do a car boot sale for DVD's, books and a few trinket boxes :)

and then the remainder will pop on ebay
