Microwave popcorn for hampers?

Hi, I'm doing Christmas eve hampers/gift bags for friends and want to include popcorn, I like the fact microwave popcorn is quite flat (im posting them) and hot when you have them but having been over a decade since I last brought some I had a couple of questions.

I was planning on splitting a box up, do individual packets have instructions on? Are they cost effective compared to bagged popcorn? Any fav brands?

Ive got some Orville Redenbachers sat in my cupboard at home ...sweet and salty the box has instructions on and so do the individual wrapped bags so easy to split a box....there are 3 in a box sorry cant remember how much the box was but it couldnt have been that expensive

Act 11 or 2 do something similar as im sure we have had that too....and in my opinion its far nicer than pre bagged popcorn

  • I got a 3 pack from Home Bargains. 89p. The packs were cellophane wrapped inside the box and had the cooking instructions on each individual package. Last pack we had filled a large fruit bowl so plenty quantity!:)

Just had another look in the cupboard and we also have some popping corn that we bought in the US...Ive seen big bags of corn in places like sainsburys so you may want to look at buying a bag and customising it into your own small containers or paper cones before sending

the instructions seem quite easy for deep pan cooking as opposed to microwave....pour 1/8th of a cup of oil into a pan...drop 2 or 3 kernels into the oil heat until 1 or 2 pop and add 1/3rd of a cup of popcorn.place lid on pan and shake back and forth allowing steam to escape until corn has popped...

  • We have a couple of bags of Popz (I think it's called.) Yes it has the information on each packet, it's very easy to use and each are individually wrapped in cellophane, with instructions. You can buy sweet or salted.

    What a great idea :)
  • I got 4 packets of microwave popcorn for 99p from Home Bargains - they had sweet, salty and butter :) Really flat packets and makes a good amount of popcorn. Full instructions on the packets :) xx

  • Does it compare in taste to butterkist? I'd love to try some proper stuff but don't like salted or plain.
