biord fish tanks?

Hi Guys,

I’m looking for a biorb fish tank and I’ve seen them in a few places but wondered if anyone knows a good cheaper place to get them online?

Ta.

I'm afraid I can't help with a good price on these tanks (though my local pets at home sometimes has offers on them I believe), but please consider your fish choice very carefully before getting one of these tanks. They are very pretty but not suitable for an awful lot of fish for a number of different reasons.

As above. They are a pain to maintain and you really can't get many fish in it. Massively overpriced for what you get too
I wouldn't put more than one goldfish in there tbh

Having had a normal traditional fish tank before getting a biorb I would def say don't. They look nice but are a nuisance to service. Filters cost £5 + per month although I now no longer use the branded ones and use compatible. I have the biggest one and you don't get a lot of fish in it.
I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!
  • Thanks for all your replies :), I just done up one my rooms to look more "swish", so its pretty important that I have a nice looking trendy tank. I didn't know about the filter costs though, that seems pretty expensive. Where do you get your unbranded filters? Thanks!

I am just looking at the baby biorb as we are looking at keeping Bettas now and they live on their own and do not need much room, I;d only keep one very small fish in there though.

We have a traditional tank although it us tall rather than wide and fits perfectly in the gap we have. My husband bought some Filter stuff off eBay for £6 inc postage and it'll last a good few years whereas the branded stuff costs £8 a month.

Ii is an addictive hobby and we started a few months ago with a 57L tank with just a few fish and now we have a 130L tank - 2 months on we even have a nursery tank with fry from eggs that ours have laid or given birth to - 14 albino corydoras and 4 baby guppys.

My friend found the Biorb Life 45L at https://www.gardensite.co.uk for the Life: http://www.gardensite.co.uk/biOrb_Life_45_White_Aquarium.htm

PRICE IS GOING UP TOMORROW SO BE QUICK - £60 CHEAPER THAN ANYWHERE ELSE I HAVE SEEN IT!!

Look at the size the fish will grow to as they'll not have much room in the Biorb, you should have 1cm of fully grown size of fish, per litre of water. So a 30ltr tank will mean you can have 8-10 tetras (we have never had any luck with neon tetras though) or 7 guppies (which will breed and you need is 3 females per male).
