Saw it instore in Asda yesterday for £7, full size bottles.
  • Looks like there is a Baileys war.

there's usually one every christmas. In the summer they fight over who has the cheapest bananas, in the winter it's Baileys :rotfl:
  • If you really want to save money, there are two options!

First of all, make your own. I did this a couple of weeks ago and we can't believe how much better it was than any commercially available Irish Cream. There are loads of recipes online, but it is basically whisky, condensed milk, fresh cream and if you like, melted chocolate and coffee. The alcohol preserves the cream and it keeps for about 2 months in a fridge.

I have to say that I probably will never buy Irish Cream again as the consistency of the one I made is far superior to Baileys, beautifully thick, creamy and the whisky really cut through.

The second way to make a saving is to buy Aldi Ballycastle Irish Cream. It is always £5.99 for 700ml, so you don't have to hunt for a deal and is a major IWSC award winner. As far as I know (allegedly), none of the major brands of spirits enter these awards because of the huge loss of face if they lost to a cheaper variant.

I usually make my own but I thought at £9.85 it was worth buying as the whisky alone would justify this price for a litre bottle. Also got a £7 off a £50 spend when I bought some knitwear the other week during their knitwear promotion which I put towards my shopping so in effect it cost me £2.85 for my baileys.

I'm loving this price war. Tesco's have got £5 off a £40 shop, Morrisons are doing 6p off a litre and £25 off a Christmas shop, Sainsbury have 10p off a litre and I've still got a £5 voucher from Asda from doing their price comparison. Too bad I've got a full tank of fuel!

Its getting harder to work out the best deal and use the vouchers in time
