Christmas table centrepieces

Every year, although my table always looks good and is all coordinated etc I always seem to leave the centrepiece for an afterthought. The colour scheme has always been cream with gold accents although I am contemplating going red, white and silver this year (to make it more child appealing...). I want to plan my centrepiece now (ideally I want all Christmas preparations done by the end of next week). However, despite being very creative I am stumped. Don't really want floral and ideally want something I can use every year as a tradition.

I would be exceptionally grateful if anyone would share their ideas, even photos!

Thank you :)

You could go for a nice vase with battery operated lights in it, my sister done this last year and it looked lovely she had a white theme, or a sweet tree, there is a thread on here on them, I am doing a forrero roche one :) I always usually make a christmas themed one with a large candle and oasis and a few xmas decs but thought I would change it this year :)

Last year we had a blue and silver theme.
I covered a freestanding MDF christmas tree with papers and other embellishments and then around the base I used the individual battery nighlights. The kids loved it - but it was very grown up too. IYKWIM.

Just read the previous post! How about a nice vase with baubles in? A friend bought us a nice clear vase a few years ago and lots of red baubles to put on it with a message on the tag that read "Open BEFORE Christmas". We had it on the hearth and it looked lovely.
  • I have bought a fish bowl vase & plan to put baubles in. However will use it all year round with different things in. Me and DH said last night we should think of a new theme each month lol!

I have silver, red and white colour scheme, and have a frosted wreath in the middle of the table with pine cones and berries, and a candle in the middle of it.

We tend to use the xmas cake as the centre piece.
  • I had some little cream boxes with brown ribbon and brown boxes with cream ribbon my mum had been given with choc in in a hotel. I put a note inside each one saying £5 had been donated to X charity, did them up and put the persons name on it. I then arranged them in a gold sleigh I got cheap from Lakeland with some gold fine shred. Before pud everyone opened theirs. The year before I did Easter chicks and my family looked at me like I had gone mad until before pud and I explained in honour of them chickens had been delivered to a family in Africa

Roast turkey is our centre piece. Dinner is served to husband and (grown-up) sons. It's all they're ever going to need, notice or appreciate.
