I'm going to have to bow out for the next few months I think... I can hardly eat anything and it all depends on how sick I am on the day, and what food I can handle (has to be VERY VERY bland). The boys are now fending for themselves most days and quiche is about to become a staple food in the house again as DH looks for quick and easy ways to feed him and DS since he has to spend most free time cleaning and sorting the house and looking after DS.
I hate being poorly, but I really can't keep up with meal planning at all
I do know the boys would like the following on days I am well (over the next week we hope):
Pizza (I just have to make dough in the BM, DH/DS will do the rest... I normally make my own passatta but DH bought some jarred stuff to give me a break, and there is always cheese in the house)
Meatballs (unfortunatly due to being sick I might make these with NO herbs or flavour and DH said he would make a rich tomato sauce and eat with pasta or potatoes, so I can have them plain - cross fingers I can eat them, because I miss eating at the same time/same thing as my boys... dinner time is supposed to be a chat on who did what during the day and we are all missing that a lot)
So good luck to everyone else!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -

I went off target a bit at the end of last week, including buying a pizza  - admittedly a RTC one, but still!
I'm hoping I can stick to this week's plan a bit better:
Friday - tuna pasta bake
Saturday - spiced beef stew and mash
Sunday - cheese, leek and potato pie
Monday - savoury mince and dumplings
Tuesday - Thai crab and veg noodles
Wednesday - pan hagerty (a new recipe for me)
Thursday - spaghetti carbonara
I fancy making a cake at the weekend - probably a 'weetabix' cake as I've still got some cereal sitting around waiting for me to find a use for it, and will get my trusty BM going to make some bread for sandwiches next week.
Have a good week, all and JG - hugs to you - it must be miserable not to be able to join in at mealtimes.I hope you feel better soon.

I quite agree - my personal downfall is yellow-stickered products. A half-price pack of chicken kievs got as far as the end of the aisle sitting in my basket yesterday before I remembered I had absolutely no space in the freezer, so they had to go back. The Thai Crab Noodles sounds lovely! You can indeed although, like most of my cooking, it's not a particularly accurate recipe. It's simply stir-fried veg (whatever you've got - onions, purple carrots and green cabbage for me this time, which will be nicely colourful), with a blob of Thai curry paste added once the veg is nearly cooked. Then add some cooked, drained rice noodles and some crab (I'm using tinned stuff at the moment as I got it cheap from Approved Food, but it's better with fresh crab (the tinned stuff doesn't have much flavour imo); prawns are good as a variation, too), stir it all together and heat through: you can add some veg stock if you fancy a more soupy meal, or leave it as a stir-fry. Serve in bowls with a generous squeeze of lemon juice over the top. I hope you like it - I came up with it as a way of using up Thai curry paste and it's now one of my favourites.
