Somewhere in the world, the Malice Box awaits activation. Launching on January 15th, the Quest will send players on a 5-week interactive global scavenger hunt in search of seven sources of Red Gold, the mysterious energy force that fuels the Malice Box. Without Red Gold, the Malice Box cannot detonate.

Players complete seven trials in which they will crack clues, break codes, and answer puzzles while navigating to the most remote parts of the globe using The Quad - a slick GPS device linked to Google Maps. For each trial players complete successfully, they earn valuable points. These points can later be exchanged for chances to "dig" - Battleship style - for the Malice Box. Players closest to the location of the Malice Box WIN prizes!

The Quest will immerse players in the world of Robert Reckliss, unsuspecting hero of The Malice Box, an adventure thriller of conspiracy and quest that links back to the alchemy
of Isaac Newton. The game stems directly from the novel's plot, whereby Robert needs to complete 7 trials in 7 days to find the 7 keys necessary to prevent detonation of the Malice Box, a terrorist weapon of unimaginable power.

The Malice Box Quest has been designed by BAFTA-award winning creative company Poke. Players can register from 4th January at https://www.maliceboxquest.com. The Quest begins on 15th January.

The Malice Box by Michael Joseph, is available to buy from Thursday February 1.

Thanks to Penguin, Digital Spy is giving ONE lucky reader the chance to win a signed copy of the book, while FOUR runners up will receive unsigned copies
