the biggest comment i would make about your spending diary is that you seem to have loads of spare money each month, is this real or do you really need to start a spending diary to track where it's actually going?
well done for selling on ebay
Thank you! I'm not sure what I missed off my SOA but I really haven't had spare money left at the end of the month - I'm always overdrawn. I know I haven't put everything I spend down on there, as it doesn't all fit neatly into one of those categories.
Since being on here I have cut right back on all my spending so it will take a couple of months to get out of the overdraft otherwise I'll be paying off CC with money that's going into overdraft!!
I got paid on 24th and was -£621 so this is my first full month of being thrifty as I only started halfway through November and it had been an expensive start to that month. Fingers crossed for less overdraft by the end of December. I think if I really go for it I could get it down to -£200!
Dad just rang and he wants black socks for xmas so that is very doable!
Have cheered up a bit xxLightbulb moment Nov 2011

Please don't feel low
you're doing really well. I wish I could spend £16 on groceries, I seem to spend a small fortune on food and yet there's only little old me eep! Remember it's one day at a time and we all have our low days.
How did the rest of your fleabay items do?
Kerri x
Thank you!
I made about £82 in total after fees on ebay - and I've put a few more items on now so hopefully I'll make about another £20
I spent about an hour in Tesco feeling very forlorn, I don't know if I bought the right things really, but I have got plenty of things in the storecupboards - I'm going to save up and do an ASDA run for dry goods when I'm running low.

How is your month going?
I've done the aimless wander around the supermarket, it's very bad. I did it on Friday round John Lewis.
My months going well, have made about £70 on fleabay and I think I've finally had my LBM when I totted up how much interest I pay each month  I then got surprisingly excited about kicking it to the kerb hehe.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Excellent! After I replied, I looked at paypal again and realised I actually made £82, as I forgot about the items that ended on SundayNothing in this flat is safe any more, if it can get me some cash!
Now not looking forward to packaging everything up, but that's something to do when I'm on strike on weds.....

Have had a bad couple of days - feel really down about life in general - job, personal life, lack of money, direction, ambition, etc. However, one positive thing to keep me going is the fact that I am doing something about the money situation. I haven't bought much else this week apart from a sandwich yesterday.
I posted off all my ebay items and then managed to get 2 presents on there for my Dad for a grand total of £4.25. I also spent strike day going around charity shops and picked up 2 books for my Mum.
This weekend my plan is to go to Hobbycraft etc to get things for making other presents. Also to go around more charity shops looking for other bits and bobs.
Have felt a bit better today, no tears like the last 2 days, so hopefully I'm coming out the other side. I don't like feeling miserable, it feels very self-indulgent. Hoping to see some light at the end of the tunnel soon.

This weekend I have been a domestic goddess. I have made 2 batches of flapjacks, some rocky road and soem chocolate brownies for a christmas thing at school tomorrow. As the baking went well, I might also make up some things as xmas presents, so it has been a good trial run.
I also bought some wool and started knitting a scarf for my Mum last night. I have done about 2/3 and have really enjoyed it! As a bonus, it keeps my fingers occupied when I'm watching tv, so I'll be less inclined to snack. Now trying to decide what to knit next - this could be my new hobby!
I also paid off £85 from my credit card, so that was positive. After an awful week where I have felt lower than I have in a long time, maybe things are looking up? I put my xmas tree up, so that looks nice.
In terms of my job and personal liofe, there's nothing I can really do about either of them. I can do something about money, and about losing the weight I already lost and put back on!
Here's to a better week. xxLightbulb moment Nov 2011

i'm so happy you're feeling more positive today, much as i hate housework when i do get it done it does make me feel better about things and baking always makes me feel cheery.
I've discovered knitting again of late and am maddly clicking needles and you're right it does stop you snacking on an evening.0 -
Well, I'm still knitting,. On scarf number 2 now and it is strangely relaxing. May have to find something more challenging to try next!
Money-wise things are going ok. I have put more pennies in my sealed jar, I have sold £122 worth of things on ebay in 3 weeks and I am doing really well not buying things I don't need. I haven't got much for christmas presents yet, so think I'll have to pop in to town at the weekend as I'm running out of time now. Everybody knows I'm being careful though, so they aren't expecting expensive gifts. I'm hoping my Mum and Grandma like their hand knitted scarves, but I know I can't give one to everyone - I don't think they'd appreciate it!Lightbulb moment Nov 2011

Well, I had a lovely Christmas, still down with my Mum at the moment but heading home tomorrow. Just bought a dressing table, mirror and stool from ebay for £5.50, a real bargain so I'm looking forward to having that as a project to do up - paint it, new knobs etc. I've been thinking about getting a dressing table for ages, and couldn't resist this bargain! I got some money so will save it and use it to buy treats over the next few months. Managed to be quite frugal with all my presents in the end - think i bought for everyone for under £70. When I get home I'll look at my bank balances and my ebay money and get paying off some more of my credit card. Feeling positive about starting 2012 in the right way now
